She was happiest when she had all of her kids and grandkids together. In her younger years, she was an excellent swimmer and continued to swim into her later years. She was passionate about uncovering the Luxembourg history in St. Donatus Catholic Church, the Jackson County Historical Preservation Society, where she served as President, Our Lady of Fatima Mothers Club, NAMI, the National Mississippi River Museum, a bridge club, euchre group, and a gourmet group. Mary Pat was a Public Health Administrator at Hillcrest Family Services before retirement. She graduated from Clarke University and received her Masters Degree in Health Service Administration from Cardinal Strich. Mary Pat was born May 10, 1941, in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Clarence J. Bev always loved a long drive in the country to find deer, no matter the season. She spent many afternoons in the stands at rodeos, cheering on her son, Bruce, including when he made it to nationals out West. Bev embodied work ethic through her commitment to being a farmer’s wife, homemaker, and mother. That chance encounter led to a marriage that lasted for the better part of a century, as the two wed on August 21, 1953.īuzz and Bev had two children, Bruce and Becky. As a teen, she met a handsome young farmer named Buzz at a dance in Rockville. Hartnett, age 89, passed away peacefully at Orchard Manor on November 29, 2023, after spending her final days surrounded by family - including her husband for a (remarkable!) 70 years, Bernard “Buzz” Hartnett.īev was born in Liberty Township on August 2, 1934, the daughter of George & Rowena (Bitney) Davies.
